Well you would be correct. We do all get tarnished with that sort of happening. And it has a huge affect to the point that many of minority religions and alternative spiritualities have to stay in the closet. Live in fear of abuse, their children being taken, being kicked out of home, losing their jobs. That is the power the majority religion has over some of our lives.

Furthermore, pointing out privilege is not mean. Were your feelings hurt?

i really hate the term place of privilege…it leads me to believe you are being mean.. so when a pagan decides to murder…

In the world of tumblr…pointing out someones Privilege is basicaly saying..you have no right to even talk about this because of what you have done to other people.

No its not saying that. Its saying that your imposing your whine “were not all like that” upon the conversation is absolutely unhelpful and continues to be damaging to the minority group that is attempting to generate power for itself. It means you should not seek out to defend something that does not need defended. A few minority people building a house and saying they like their shack better and they don’t like the castle are not actually effectively attacking the castle. And defending the castle is in affect taking the offensive against the shacks. Demanding that them not liking the castle even though some parts of the castle and some of the people who live there are nice (just not the parts with the cannon balls shooting out at the shacks). And the shacks are easily torn down. The castle, is doing just fine.
